Modified and Blinged 2008 Yamaha 250 Raptor

Following the end of the 2008 race season Tyler’s factory Yamaha 250 quad underwent total customization. On December 23, 2008 it was completed. The concept, colour scheme and overall design was chosen by Tyler. The decaling was provided by Sunhill Racing’s Checkered Flag sponsor Absolute AdVentures while the physical piecing together of the quad was handled by Jason from www.ultimatetoyz.ca in Pickering Ontario. Custom parts were ordered online as well as through our good friends at www.fullthrottle1.com in Castleton, Ontario. Following is a list of some of the modifications and “blinging” done to date. The latest addition to Tyler’s quad is a Starlane Athon GPS Chrono with intermediates, digital tachometer with LED bar and ultra bright shift light with back light for full sun viewing. The unit tracks speed and location via GPS without the aid of infrared marker technology. It includes a double hour meter for service scheduling. Data is downloaded via bluetooth to a laptop through proprietary DigiRace software..

Green Flame 250

Modified and Blinged 2008 Yamaha 250 Raptor

John received his new Yamaha Raptor 250 for Christmas 2008 and it is now in for customization. The quad is pretty much identical to Tyler’s other than it has an HMF sports series slip on exhaust and fitted with Hole Shot tires. It will be custom finished with green and black wrinkle coat powder coating as well as two tone green flame decals. The quad willagain be assembled by Ultimate Toyz of Pickering, Ontario. Twin Purple Flame 100’s

Modified and Blinged Apex MXR Pro 100’s

John has at his disposal two 2007 Apex MXR Pro 100’s when racing in 2009. Although Tyler used to ride one of them he is now too old to race a mini in the MMRS series. At other tracks and series Tyler may occasionally race one of the Apex’s if age requirements permit. Both Apex’s were purchased directly from the factory and upon arrival in Canada were maintained by Jeff and Terri at Full Throttle Racing [www.fullthrottle1.com]. The race ready quads were both custom powder coated lime green and have been fitted with Elka Elite shocks, racing pipes, Vforce 3 reeds and handle bar grips and guards to match the quad’s colour. New Hole Shot tires were put on the primary Apex at the end of race season in the fall of 2008. Custom decaling with two tone purple flames is again being done by Absolute AdVentures.

Blue Flame 450

Modified and Blinged 2004 Yamaha YFZ 450

Our 2004 YFZ450, 50/50 race / pump fuel only engine has about 30 hours on it. The engine size is 468cc [stock was 439cc] and was done in 2004 - 2005. The crank is a WR type 1.4mm stroke, Falicon rod and is dynamically balanced. The cylinder is bored to 97mm, fitted to a Wiseco YZ race piston that has about 1 hour of run time on it, 13.8:1; the head is ported and has +1mm oversized valves and HD valve spring kit. The cam mod is done, the carb is tuned with Factory Pro jet parts and a Boyesen A/P cover. The intake is a FCI that can be run with or without the modified airbox. The oil pump is the updated 07/08 high volume pump with the additional oil squirter in the case. The clutch basket and cover are Hinson Racing with 05 YZ plates and springs and molded case saver. The exhaust is a Sniper.

As for the chassis, this quad has not yet been raced MX, only trail and ice racing. Up front it has ASR+2" std travel HD a/arms, Elka Elite shocks, Houser +1" antivibe steering stem, Renthal Fatbars, handguards, Honda TRX 400 EX thumb throttle for easier operation and less thumb fatigue. The front brake master cylinder is from a 2005 TRX 450R for better stopping power and it has steel braided brake lines front and rear. There is a Duncan Racing front bumper, Douglas beadlock front rims with Kenda tires and Blingstar nerfbars. The rear end has a Walsh Racecraft swingarm that uses Honda TRX 250R twin piston rear brake caliper and rotor with a round Rad billet axle carrier. It also has a Lonestar Honda adjustable axle, billet caiper mount, billet 250R sprocket huband which use 250R rear sprockets for better sprocket selection, aluminum rear hubs, Douglas beadlock rear rims with Holeshot MXR6 tires and a Ekla Elite long travel rear shock with Elka long travel billet linkage. This rear end setup is the best in the industry for reliability, performance and easy chain adjustments. The rear chassis is strengthened with a RP subframe brace system. The battery has also been upgraded to a larger unit.

Cosmetically this quad has a Quadtech vented nose cone, rad shrouds and complete Quadtech hump seat with 06-08 thicker foam. Absolute AdVentures will be decaling this quad in a custom two tone blue flame design as part of its 2009 Checkered Flag sponsorship with Sunhill Racing this year. When completed this fully modified racing machine will match the flame theme on the, Eton, the red and green Raptors as well as the two APEX’s.

Yellow Flame 50

Blinged 2005 Eton 50 Viper

William’s 2005 Eton Viper was purchased as a starter quad to teach him how to ride an ATV. It was powder coated lime green to match his brother’s two APEX quads and has a two tone yellow flame decal motif being put on it by Len and Sharon of Absolute AdVentures in the spring of 2009. The quad features a remote kill device which allows “Mom or Dad” the capability of shutting down the engine from afar.
